HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUANDENGAN PENCEGAHAN PENYAKIT RABIES PADA MASYARAKAT KAMPUNG WAEPANA DESA SESO WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS WAEPANA KABUPATEN NGADA

Abstract

Rabies is a deadly disease that is transmitted from animals to humans and attacks the central nervous system. The most cases of animal bites that transmit rabies are dog bites. This is because many people have not obeyed the government's recommendation to vaccinate dogs. One of the factors that influence the prevention of rabies is the level of knowledge. Lack of knowledge about this disease results in people lacking in making decisions to prevent rabies.This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and prevention of rabies in the people of Waepana village, Seso village, the working area of ​​Waepana Public Health Center, Ngada Regency. This type of research is a quantitative research with descriptive correlation method. Sampling using total sampling with a total of 118 respondents.The results showed that most respondents had a good level of knowledge (93.2%) because the community already understood about rabies. For the prevention of rabies, most respondents were obedient in preventing rabies (89.8%) because people already understood how to prevent rabies. and Spearman Rho. statistical test results there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and prevention of rabies in the community in Waepana Village, Seso Village, Ngada Regency, Work Area of ​​the Waepana Health Center. The community is expected to have good intentions and awareness about rabies prevention and increase knowledge so that they have a positive attitude to prevent the spread of rabies.   Keywords: Knowledge Level, Prevention of Rabies Disease.
