Abstract

Physicochemical and phytochemical properties of white teak (Gmelina arborea Roxb) were analyzed. The purpose of this research is to know the physicochemical properties and phytochemical content of white teak stems so that it can be used as something useful. Stem extract was obtained by maceration technique using 96% methanol as solvent. The results obtained are white teak plant extract has a density of 0.43 gr / mL, boiling point at 32oC, and soluble in aquadest, methanol, butanol and acetone. The phytochemical analysis showed that the rod extract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins that served as natural antioxidants. Keywords: Jati putih’s bark extracts, antioxidant
